Perfectly Pleasing Pincushion Parade 2020

It's time for the Perfectly Pleasing Pincushion Parade!!

I am so excited for this year's parade!  I have gone out of my comfort zone and created some pincushions that I never would have thought I could do before!

Thank you so much to my aunt, Ida, My Sister Made Me do it..., for hosting this fun parade!

Dun dun dun dun!  Here we go:

This one was a "piece of cake!'  (Not really, it was actually very difficult for me, but I am really happy with how it turned out!)  I made this one for my mom, ...and the little sister follows, for her birthday, which is today!  Happy birthday, mama!!

This next one was made for my by my aunt, Irene.  Check out her blog- Hilachas!  I really love it because it has a loop in the back for hanging and also a small pocket in the front for your scissors!  It's so pretty, too!

Next, is another one of my creations!  A cheeseburger, yummy! I started to follow a tutorial, and instead decided to just do it on my own, the way I wanted 😜

Next, a lovely "shabby chic" tomato made by my mom!  I just love this one!

Another one made by my mom.  I just LOVED this one when I saw it and asked her if I could have it...she said yes!

These next three are mini pincushions that were given to me by my aunt, Irene!  They are so cute and miniature.  I love them!

Next, one of my favorite additions!  Made also by my aunt, Irene.  A lovely bunch of houses!  Aren't they darling?!

Lastly, I have one of my all time favorite characters to complete this pincushion!  Mickey Mouse!  A special thanks to my aunt, Ida, our wonderful Pincushion Parade host, for giving me all of the materials I needed to make this adorable pincushion and sharing the pinwheel pincushion tutorial!  Check it out on her page, here: Pinwheel Pincushion Tutorial

Here is the collection for this year's Perfectly Pleasing Pincushion Parade!

And a special shout out to my entries from our last pincushion parade, just for fun!

Please join us!  We'd love to see all of the wonderful pincushions out there!

Perfectly Pleasing Pincushion Parade 2020

Perfectly Pleasing Pincushion Parade!

It is almost time for the Pincushion Parade to begin!  It is hosted by my aunt, Ida over at mysismademe.blogspot.com.  Head on over to check it out!

And here are the rules:

There are really no rules here.....we want to see pincushions you've made, the ones you have received as gifts, or vintage pincushions you've found at estate sales, or even the ones you bought.....bring em all....no pincushion will be turned away at this parade! 😀

We hope you will join us.  It is always so fun to see everyone's pincushion collections!  Plus...there are lots of fun prizes!  Check them out at mysismademe.blogspot.com!

The parade begins on June 8, 2020 and you can follow the link above to Ida's blog to link up and enter at that time!  Yippee!!

Here is a link to my previous entries in the 2017 Pincushion Parade so you can check it out!

Potholder Fun

Sewing Exchange Potholders This Month

I tried quilting in a different way, sewing straight lines all the way down.

It was a challenge to keep them straight, but I like the way it turned out!

Also, here are a few of the mini pincushions I sent her.  I have so much fun making those :)

Here are the other potholders I have received so far in our sewing exchange.  I love them all!  So unique and fun.  I am so excited to have such a great collection of beautiful potholders!

Potholder Fun

Potholders

This is exciting because this is our CURRENT project for the year.  Potholders!

So far I have made two sets, one for Irene and one for my mom.  Here is the set that I made for Irene earlier in the year!  I just knew she would love this Alice in Wonderland theme!

I was also able to use the embroidery machine again,  couldn't forget the Cheshire Cat!

Postcard Fun

Quilted Post Cards

I had never heard of these before.  They turn out so cute,  one side you quilt your pattern, and on the other side- it's like a real postcard!  You address it, write a little note, and mail it!  These were fun to make and especially fun to receive!  Here are three that I made and send out to our sewing group a while back.

Hanging Towels

Another project we have done- Hanging Towels!

These are also fun to make.

Here are two I made for our sewing group last year!

A Tabletopper for Ida

A Tabletopper for Ida

Here is a tabletopper I made for Ida during our sewing with friends group.  This one was fun to make!
